Washington County Grasslands Wildlife Management Area - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation

The Washington County Grasslands Area consists primarily of grassland habitat that allows the area to support a variety of rare species throughout the year. The DEC employs various management techniques to maintain current and create new grassland fields. Wintering and breeding bird surveys have shown that our management techniques are providing suitable habitat for the target species. In addition, the site contains stream, wetland, and shrub land that supports a wide variety of mammals, birds, herpetiles, insects and more.
