Vinton, Iowa Veterans Memorial Park | The American Legion

Vinton Veteran's Memorial Park has a Memorial Stone for ALL Veterans; men and women that served in the military, and those KIA. (attached Picture) First off, there are 7 flag poles for all 5 branches of the Service, an Iowa flag, and a POW/MIA flag below the US flag. Purchased by the City of Vinton, Iowa. Park and Recreation Dept. (attached picture) The First Memorial is an American Marine 105 Howitzer, used in Vietnam. Acquired by a Retired US Marine Major Larry Michael of Vinton, Iowa.; who has since "passed away", due to Agent Orange, while serving in Vietnam.
