Read and Laniado, LLP is a law firm focused on energy law in New York. Our attorneys represent clients before federal, State, and local agencies and boards on energy, competitive markets, ratemaking, environmental, siting, and related regulatory matters. Our lawyers are involved with the development and siting of electric generating facilities, including renewables such as solar and wind, energy storage, and gas and electric transmission lines. Our law firm is fully versed on New York’s comprehensive electric generation siting law, Public Service Law Article 10, having been fully involved in the negotiations to reenact Article 10 and having counseled applicants on five Article X applications. Our attorneys are currently representing clients in the development of energy storage and wind energy projects under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and representing a developer of solar energy projects under Article 10. Our lawyers generally work on large, utility-scale renewable energy projects, and are familiar with community distributed generation (CDG) as well. Our law firm has extensive experience with siting natural gas pipelines and electric transmission lines under Public Service Law Article VII. Our attorneys are familiar with the unique issues presented when siting submarine transmission lines, such as those required for offshore wind projects.
