In family medicine, you learn something new every day. I find this knowledge to be especially helpful as it can be used toward something positive – healing. My patients would probably describe my bedside manner as compassionate and caring. I am a good listener and I believe that trust and open communication are important to patient/provider relationships. My medical experience in the United States and overseas has shown me that each patient is part of a family that has its own care needs and preferences. This is something I respect.
