Layla Hajjafar, M.D. - St. Luke's Hospital

Layla Hajjafar, MD, MSc, is a quadruple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Transplant Hepatology, and Obesity Medicine with St. Luke’s Digestive Consultants. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowships in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH.  She also has a Master’s degree in Outcomes Research that she completed at Case Western Reserve University during this time. Dr. Hajjafar has expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract and liver disorders.  She has a special interest in all liver disorders, such as Alcohol-related Liver Disease (ALD), Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD/NASH), Viral hepatitis (B and C), and End Stage Liver Disease (cirrhosis).  She performs general endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and EGD.  Dr. Hajjafar believes that the best way to care for a patient is to empower them with the knowledge necessary to prevent disease development and/or progression.
