Der Rathskeller » Wisconsin Union

Der Rathskeller (or Der Rath as it is affectionately called) is a favorite gathering place for students, staff, and community members. With a German beer hall feel, this Wisconsin Union icon hosts music sponsored by the Wisconsin Union Directorate's Music Committee, game watches for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers, and provides a place to meet and socialize. While the food service in Der Rath is closed for renovation, the seating area will remain open through the academic year. It will undergo restoration, including the cork ceiling, murals, and tables and chairs. A more usable stage will be built with better lighting and a hi-definition screen for more exciting game watches.
