Description

Deer Creek United Methodist Church - Find A Church - The United Methodist Church

Deer Creek UMC is part of the Deer Creek Charge, along with our Sister Church, Mt. Tabor UMC. We are two small, rural churches with big hearts located in Harford County, Maryland. While we are two congregations, we are linked by a close location and common ministry in our community. We share one pastor. Deer Creek United Methodist Church was founded in 1826 as part of the Methodist Protestant tradition (We are the 2nd oldest Methodist Protestant congregation in the world!). Surrounded by farms and the rolling hills of northern Harford County, we’ve been meeting on the same land for almost 200 years! We are a small family church. Many of our members are descendents of the founding members of the congregation. We value prayer and fellowship. A small wing for Sunday School and a bathroom was added in the 1970s. Our Mission Statement: Deer Creek United Methodist Church family is empowered by the love of God through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to hear, feel, and teach the word of God, to share the word with each other, the community, the world; to live the word with our time and talents; to nurture and expand the family of God. We exist to faithfully, lovingly, and prayerfully follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
