Amistad Family Services

At Amistad, we believe in the power and importance of relationships. They provide the foundation for development, including our mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health. They are the building blocks of our families and societies. Relationship disruptions, past or present can cause anxiety, depression, self-doubt, confusion, anger and contribute to many other mental health issues, especially when the relationships were harmful or frightening. Our hope at Amistad is to walk alongside each client as we hear their story, help them make sense of their experiences, and empower them to learn new ways of being through new experiences. Amistad clinicians are also highly trained in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. We are able to observe and evaluate the emotional, social and developmental needs of children Birth-5. We work closely with parents and caregivers to develop a plan to help young children learn and develop in safe, secure, nurturing relationships. We believe in the importance of strengthening parent-child bonds and provide psychoeducation, parenting classes and clinical interventions when appropriate.
